BIW Flow Scale

BROSWEIGH BIW Flow Scale, is used to measure flow rates of free-falling powder and granular materials. It is preferred where systems such as belt scales or silo weighing cannot be used (for example, recording the flow of process materials, inventory control, optimization of truck or wagon loading). Its compact dimensions allow for quick and easy installation. Thanks to the suspensions in the impact plate, material deposits do not occur and it always maintains the zero point of the scale.

The working principle of an flow scale is that material from the feed pipe falls onto a plate connected to the load cell. The falling material produces a force impact and horizontal deflection on the plate. The force component of the materials hitting the plate is taken and made to read the flow rate on the BWI Indicator and processed as instantaneous flow rate / total amount of material passing through the system.
