BIW Flow Scale
BROSWEIGH BIW, is used to measure flow rates of free-falling powder and granular materials. It is preferred where systems such as belt scales or silo weighing cannot be used (for example, recording the flow of process materials, inventory control, optimization of truck or wagon loading). Its compact dimensions allow for quick and easy installation. Thanks to the suspensions in the impact plate, material deposits do not occur and it always maintains the zero point of the scale.
Here’s how it works: The material from the supply pipe falls onto a plate attached to the load cell. The falling material creates a force pulse on the plate that produces horizontal deflection. By taking the resultant of the forces hitting the plate, the flow rate is made to be read through the BWI Indicator and the instant flow rate & the total amount of material passed are recorded in the system.
